Perfect for Valentine’s Day or anytime, this love bug or butterfly heart clip can be used as a chip clip, paper holder and so on. Or you can add a magnet to the back and put it on your fridge!
What You Need: Clothespin; 2 small googly eyes; 4 foam hearts in 2 sizes; half of a pink pipe cleaner; glue (special foam-friendly glue works best on the foam).
How to Make It: Wrap pink pipe cleaner around flat end of clothespin and glue to secure. Glue googly eyes to flat end and let dry. Glue small foam hearts inside large ones and glue both sets point-to-point inside the clothespin (you may need to overlap them a bit).

These cute caterpillars make great gifts, and can be used as chip clips, paperweights and a variety of other uses. Kids love picking out the colors for these little guys.
What You Need: Clothespin; 4 decorative rock gems; pipe cleaner; googly eyes; scissors; glue (If kid-safe glue doesn’t hold as well as you’d like, adult may want to try a hot glue gun.)
How to Make It: Select decorative rocks to attach to clothespin. Glue 2 googly eyes to the one in front. Cut (adult job) small section of pipe cleaner. Slip pipe cleaner between first and second rock and secure with drop of glue. Let dry.
Clothespin and muffin paper turkey
Tuesday, October 9th, 2007Make a bunch of these cute clothespin turkeys for a holiday party. You can even use them to mark guests’ places at Thanksgiving dinner!
What You Need: Flat clothespin; two small googly eyes; muffin (cupcake) pan paper liner; red, orange and yellow markers; scraps of red and orange cardstock or construction paper; glue; scissors.
How You Make It: Fold muffin paper in half with light side facing out. Color to look like turkey feathers, or however you’d like. Glue two eyes near top of clothespin front. Cut out orange triangle for beak and glue on front of clothespin. Punch out heart from red paper or just cut a wattle shape and glue on. Glue clothespin onto muffin paper.

Thursday, August 9th, 2007What You Need: Flat (“no-roll”) style clothespin, pink acrylic paint, white felt, small white pom pom, two small googly eyes, black marker, scissors, glue.
How You Make It: Paint clothespin pink and let dry. Cut thin strips from felt for inside “ears” and glue to long ends of clothespin. Glue on eyes and pom pom nose. Draw on mouth with black marker. You could also glue another pom pom on the back for a rabbit cotton tail!
